Answer

Introduction
As per the research on healthcare assignment, it can be stated that aged population is increasing widely in Australia and their dependence on aged care giving facilities is also increasing. Such facilities are gaining more popularity among the society of Australia. This report attempts to draw a comparison of the two main modes of rehabilitation caregiving facilities. The two main identified modes of caregiving facilities are financial and clinical models. This report primarily focuses on analysing the quality standards of National Aged Care Quality Standards for Aged Care Services and Rehabilitation Services and further evaluates the implications for the role of nurses working with older persons as health assistants with regards to rehabilitation caregiving facilities.

Evaluation of differences in models of rehabilitation aged care services with aged care giving services

Aged care settings

Rehabilitation settings

Explanation

The concept of aged care setting can be defined as the care giving service that is provided to the older adults at their homes. The concept of aged care setting is based on home based care giving services. These kinds of services are very important for the older generation who are mostly dependent on the care givers for their daily day to day living activities. These care givers help them with treatment and diet plans and help them to recover from their illness under a home based facility.

The concept of rehabilitation aged care setting can be defined as the service facilities that are provided to the aged people who undergo major surgeries or treatments and are kept under severe Medicare for their illness. Such care giving facilities are important for the older and aged people and help them to recover faster from their illnesses and led a more normal life. The care giving facilities are more important in case of such rehabilitation settings because most of the patients under go severe surgery and need proper guidance and well trained care giving services.

Modes of services

Home based.

In the first case, the care giving services are mainly Homed based care giving services. There is a growing need in Australia for home based care giving services. Most of the population of Australia is moving towards a older age population and therefore the dependency of this section of people over the care giving nursing practices is also increasing widely. When an older person is diagnosed with severe illnesses, based on their level of severity they are provided with home based care giving services. This helps the aged people to recover faster under their own comfort and remain close to the family members.

Home based as well Community based.

(Inpatient rehabilitation settings as well as community based rehabilitation settings)

On the other hand, the rehabilitation care giving services are mostly provided to the older people who are diagnosed with diverse, severe and complex illnesses and require an appropriate way of treatment. This rehabilitation care giving system comes under the community service care giving facility as because although this is home based service but the older people are treated in a rehab and therefore this is counted as a community based service and not a home based service.

Financial Assistance

ACFI Model of care.

In the first case, the financial assistance is “Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) “which is a method by which the amount of aged care per resident is being calculated. The “ACFI model of care” for the “aged people” helps in understanding the cost of treatment and Medicare that is required for the “aged care people” receiving it under the co9mfort of their homes. Such “ACFI” model of care therefore helps in funding the cost of care and thus helps the “aged people” to recover faster from these services.

Medicare Insurance Programme.

In case of Rehabilitation Aged Care Settings Services, the nursing facilities, the Medicare , the severe surgery and any other treatment which is been availed under such a rehabilitation service setting is financed by a Medicare Insurance Programme. This medicare insurance programme covers the entire cost of such a treatment in such rehabilitation settings for the aged people.

Chronic Disease

No.

Yes.

National aged care quality standards & the implications for the role of the nurse working with older persons in:

·         The primary organizations providing aged care services to the aged people are supposed to mandatorily adhere to the norms of National Aged Care Quality Standards or as widely known as Quality Standards. This Quality Standard is a primary framework of the organizations which they need to confirm and adhere to prior to providing services to the aged people. This framework is a guideline which sets a bar for the quality of care giving services to be expected from the customers. (Batchelor, 2019).

The main crux is to protect the aged people from poor and unhealthy services and ensure quality services to them. There are eight main standards of quality care giving:

“Customer dignity and choice”, “Ongoing assessment and planning with consumers”, “Personal care and clinical care”, “Services and supports for daily living”,

“Organization’s service environment”, “Feedbacks and complaints”, “Human resources”, “Organizational governance”,

These are the eight main standards of quality care giving services which are ensuring quality care giving services to the aged people(Young, 2017).  These standards are to be maintained properly and this helps in bridging the gap between the inter dependency of the aged people on the care givers(Choi, 2019).

·         Even for rehabilitation facilities, the quality and standard of care giving services are considered thoroughly.

·         These standards are to be maintained properly and this helps in bridging the gap between the inter dependency of the aged people on the care givers.  The role of nurses in providing care giving services to the aged people is very significant(Choi, 2019). The aged people play an important role in providing care giving services to them as they are mostly inter dependent on others and especially the ones who tend to provide with care giving services(CRyan, 2020)

·         The nurses act as the major backbone system for these aged people who are diagnosed with several health problems. Depending on the level of healthcare problems, they are either given home based aged care services or hospital based aged care services(Lindmark, 2018). Thus, the nurses are the main people who provide the assurance to the aged people and help them with their day to day life activities. The biggest problem with the aged people are that their retention capacity decreases majorly and thus affects their health altogether.

Implementation process

The role of nurses working with older persons in aged care settings play a vital role in helping them to get used to with their day to day activities and help them recover(Koder, 2018). The nurses are the ones who play the major role in such cases. They are the ones who looks after the implementation process.

The role of nurses working with older persons in rehabilitation settings is more significant than aged acre settings(Etkind, 2018). This is so because in rehabilitation settings, the nurses are the people who help the older persons to recover and there is no presence of any family members or close relatives.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the National Aged Care Quality Standards framework and rehabilitation caregiving services for Aged People plays a significant role for checking the quality of care giving services that are being provided to the aged people. Additionally, the benefits of such care giving services help the aged people to get used to with their day to day activities and retain such memories.
