The roots of FedUni or the Federation University of Australia can be traced back to 1870, cementing its spot as the fourth oldest tertiary education institution in the country. With the merger of Monash University's Gippsland Campus and the University of Ballarat, it got its current name in 2014. With an emphasis on imparting quality education and skills to students from all over to create global citizens, the Federation University has its campuses present in Ballarat, Brisbane, Berwick, Gippsland and Wimmera. Federation University has three campuses in Ballarat and the University Drive with the Mt Helen campus being about only 10 km away from the city centre. The SMB Campus is built on an area of 110 hectares catering to 4,500 students, housing advanced engineering and construction facilities as well as new classrooms and labs. The Ballarat campus at Camp Street is known for its Arts Academy while the Gippsland campus in Churchill is located on a 60-hectare area and has science, midwifery, and nursing labs. Located at 289 Baillie Street, Horsham is the Wimmera campus that boasts specialized and modern training facilities. The Berwick campus is a fairly modern construction about 40 km from Melbourne CBD houses spacious gardens and grounds. The Queensland campus in Brisbane offers students a chance to live and study while enjoying a high-quality lifestyle.
