Introduction
Business ethics as per Chia and Oyeniran(2020), are a set of policies and practices which organisations apply for guiding themselves through decision making regarding deals, negotiations, finances, CSR, etc. It often happens that the individuals or organisations face a situation leading to ethical dilemma, where they are indecisive about going by ethics or logic. In this ethics assignment, the foundation of business ethics along with ethical dilemmas will be discussed.

Business Ethics in the ethics assignment
The business ethical is applied professional ethics which guides the actions of individuals and organisations. As per the findings of the ethics assignment in a situation where the choice is between following the business ethics and going by profit oriented logic, the ethical dilemma arises. The business ethics facilitate examining the ethical principles and moral problems which crop up in a business environment (Ferrell et al, 2019). In the absence of business ethics, the organisation could breach regulations or law, face ethical dilemmas and encounter financial downfalls.

Ethical Dilemma
I have faced an ethical dilemma at my previous workplace, where the choice was between taking the credit for someone else’s efforts or revealing that it was not my work. If I chose the first option for the ethics assignment, it would prove to be beneficial for my job and lead to appraisal. However, I stuck to the second option which was ethical.
During Covid-19 pandemic, I have seen my family members and friends who are health workers facing ethical dilemmas. They were confused whether to carry on with their ethical duty of taking care of their patients or stay at home to avoid contracting coronavirus and affecting the entire family. They further had to choose between using ventilatory support for patients who are likely to get better or patients who were dying. During such dilemmas as mentioned in the ethics assignment, it was difficult for the health workers to take a decision.

Impact of Ethical Dilemma
The ethical dilemmas discussed in the ethics assignmenthave a strong impact on me. It causes confusion, disappointment, anxiety, distress and discomfort. However, I have always managed to stay strong and ethical. I have cleared the confusion and ethical dilemma, sticking strongly to the business ethics. The clarity after resolving the ethical dilemma in the ethics assignmentleads to better performance and positive change in attitude towards work and life.

Conclusion
It can be concluded in the ethics assignmentthat the ethical dilemmas might arise in decision making. The confusion could be in making a choice between two available options. The option which leads to compromise or violation of the ethical standards should be avoided and replaced by the option which is ethically sound.
